Location information

Flinders is 45 miles south-south-east of Melbourne close to the coast. The Naval Depot is one of the two main training establishments of the Royal Australian Navy. During the war naval recruits were drafted first to Flinders Naval Depot for a course of intensive training, after which they could be drafted to sea for additional training under practical conditions. Large new blocks were built to accommodate the constantly increasing numbers. This cemetery is within the confines of the Naval Depot.
