History information
Seremban, a town with a population of 42,000, is in Negri Sembilan State on the western side of the Malay Peninsula, and is the capital of the state. In February 1941, when part of the Australian 8th Division was sent to Malaya, one of the medical units - the 2/9th Field Ambulance - was posted there. Most of the war graves in Seremban were moved to Taiping War Cemetery, where permanent maintenance is assured but one war grave in this Christian cemetery remains. The cemetery is 2.25 miles from Seremban at the end of Gutsall Road. The war grave lies to the right of the gateway in the third plot. There are an additional 34 Non World War service burials here, now in the care of CWGC.
